Who is Nature’s Child

Nature is our mother and we are her children. At Nature’s Child, we hope to awaken this love for our mother, the love we are all born with. Through our nature programs and workshops we make environment awareness both fun and creative for all ages.
We believe that a deep sense of love and reverence for nature is the path forward for all our actions.

Explore Creative Outdoor Learning

At Nature’s Child you will find programs that are unique and fulfilling for the soul. From celebrating festivals in a creative way, exploring your artistic side with traditions that are close to nature, indulging in nature games and activities, to learning to write creatively with nature’s inspiration - our programs are all about experiencing a deep connection with mother nature.

Holi Naturally

In this workshop, we learn about the traditional Holi colour, the significance of Rang Panchami and making our own natural colours (both dry and wet) for celebrating and playing Holi the natural way. These colours can be sourced from our own homes and allow us to play Holi without harming our skin or hair - on the contrary many of them work wonders for us!

Animal Bonding

As children we are born with a love for animals - one of the reason why many of us keep pets. Here’s an opportunity to bond with animals we don’t encounter so often. This is a session where we discover our joy for animals through our sense of touch and observation. This program too is meant for all ages.

Traditional art with nature

We use natural colours from flowers and leaves to make a traditional art form based on an ancient Indian art existing since the time of the Ramayan. No typical colours like crayons, sketch pens, pencils will be used and this makes the art form both interesting and fun.

Healing Nature stories

Parents and teachers often face challenging behaviours and personalities of children. Through the use of gentle nature stories we can reach out to each child’s soul and also introduce new learning concepts by weaving our own imaginative stories. Through this workshop, I will be sharing some of the Healing nature stories written by me and other writers/ teachers. We will learn the basics of framing a story in the realm of Steiner methodology, using songs, rhymes and repetition.

Nature’s Day Out

Nature games are a fun way to introduce learning about the workings of the natural kingdom. We have a Tree themed program and a Animal themed program where we make our participants learn to use their sense of sight, smell, hearing, touch and observation. Nature games and activities create a deep bonding with nature that lasts for a long time to come.

Pebble art Workshop

Can ordinary pebbles turn into an art form? We spend time outdoors, learn to choose the right pebbles and create an art form that can be experimented with to our heart’s content. Once again, no brushes, no regular colours, erasers or sharpeners - just our creative instinct which can work wonders!

Yoga with Nature

Nature is our primary Guru- the source of all learning. Many asanas and pranayams in Yoga are derived from animals and nature around us. In this program, we will be doing Yoga outdoors in the company of trees and birds. We learn to respect and empathise with all creatures around us, making nature our inspiration for Yoga and the source of our strength

Eco-friendly Ganesha making

We have now begun to recognise the importance of eco-friendly Ganeshas in all forms. This program unearths your creative side, as you learn to sculpt clay Ganeshas which you can actually use during your pooja for Ganesha utsav, take pride in your own creation and perform Visarjan without harming the environment around us.

Haiku with Nature

Haiku is one of the poetry forms which brings you closest to nature. This program begins with a traditional Gingko ( silent nature walk) and will be followed by the basics of modern Haiku. We will be reading different types of traditional and modern Haiku and Senryu, learning the basic rules and writing our own beautiful Haiku from our observation of nature. This program encourages your own creativity in poetry writing and deepens a love for nature.

Nature’s Mandalas

Mandalas derive their basic source from the sacred geometry we see around us in nature. In this program we learn to form mandalas from nature motifs, experience the therapeutic effect of drawing mandalas and have fun as we introspect about the universe around us.

Dance therapy with Nature

Earth, water, fire, wind and space…as we swing to the 5 elements of nature together in a group, we discover how to dance with wild abandon. This workshop can be done indoors or outdoors and is conducted by a trained dance therapist who specialises in this field.

Eco-Puppet making

Creating our own puppets out of waste is all about making conservation a fun activity. This eco-friendly workshop invites you to bring along waste packaging like soap cartons, shampoo bottles, paper packaging and other discarded packaged items. Together we turn them into interesting characters to play along. We learn about the difference between a puppet or a muppet and a toy and how to give a voice to each of our puppets.
